Use Case: Real-Time Optimization in a 40,000 m² Logistics Warehouse
With 300 warehouse employees and 30 forklift trucks moving simultaneously across multiple zones, the company required real-time insight into traffic flows, bottlenecks, and asset utilization to improve both efficiency and safety.
The Challenge
Traditional tracking methods offered limited visibility, making it difficult to optimize routing, prevent congestion, or analyze how people and vehicles actually moved through the warehouse. The company needed a solution that could continuously track movement inside the facility—accurately, automatically, and at scale.
The Solution
The warehouse was equipped with AI-enabled smart cameras capable of recognizing simple visual markers (such as AprilTags, ArUco or QR-style fiducials). Using advanced computer vision, the system calculates each camera’s exact position, then determines the real-time (x, y, z) coordinates and orientation of staff and forklifts through triangulation and multi-view geometry.
This enables:
-
Real-time indoor localization
-
Continuous visibility of staff and vehicle movements
-
Live traffic flows, heatmaps, and utilization analytics
-
Accurate detection of routes, waiting times, and operational inefficiencies
The platform integrates seamlessly with warehouse IT systems (WMS, MES, ERP), making it suitable for medium and large facilities.
Technology Capabilities
To meet operational demands, the solution incorporates:
-
Advanced computer vision and AI/ML models
-
Sub-meter indoor localization accuracy
-
Robust multi-camera calibration and synchronization
-
Real-time dashboards for analytics and visualization
-
Optional safety modules (collision warnings, restricted-zone alerts)
-
Outcome
The result is a scalable, future-proof indoor localization system that provides the logistics operator with continuous insight, actionable optimizations, and a foundation for safer and more efficient warehouse operations.
